Loving You Always

We are dancing under a blackened sky that is heavy with sparkling stars of white. My arms are wrapped around your waist, holding you as tightly as I can…not wanting ever to let you go. Your strong arms engulf my frame, holding me as tightly as I hold you. I lay my cheek against your chest feeling the hardness beneath, listening to the rhythmic beat of your heart. My mind swirls from being so close to you and from the soft instrumental music that is playing in the background. I wonder if I have the same affect on you or if you just do this to make me happy and nothing more. I feel your slender fingers delve into the depths of my long hair, cool fingertips lightly massaging my scalp then trail down to the nape of my neck and rest there for the time being. Your other hand is pressed to the small of my back pushing me closer to you. Our bodies are moving together in perfect timing when I notice a slight change in your breathing. I look up to find crimson red tears streaking down your porcelain cheeks. My lips find your cheek; softly kissing and licking away your tears of built up pain, disappointment and unworthiness. You push me away slightly. You fear that even the slightest bit of your blood will cause me to lose my mind. Slowly you walk over to a nearby chaise and sit down upon the edge of it, leaning forward and resting your elbows on your knees; your hands find their way into your dark waves. I pause for a second before I go over to you. My heart aches to see you so distressed. I kneel down before you and gently pull one of your hands away from your face. Gently I place a soft kiss on your palm, curling my fingers around your larger hand. I look up at you; your face is still streaked with red. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a tissue and carefully wiped away your tears. You looked at me blankly as if you didn’t know what to say or do. I whisper words of encouragement and comfort to you and I tell you how much I love you. Your face softens, but the pain can still be seen within. How I wish I could make this pain go away for you. I knew that there was probably nothing that I could do to take it away completely. I knew that I had to find your one true love and bring her to you. My love would not ease you entirely. As I stood up your grasp tightened on my hand and you looked up at me with concerned eyes. You thought that I was going to abandon you. I smile softly down at you and reassure you that I will be right back. Before I go I brush back your dark curling strands of hair away from your forehead and plant a kiss gently there.

I make my way back into the house heading straight for your study. I knew that is where she would have to be lying in wait for you. I open the door and my eyes begin searching the richly decorated room. I finally find her. She is sitting in her case on a table near your desk. My fingers brush across the smooth surface that encloses her. Carefully I open the clasps that keep her safely inside. Her home is centuries old, and so is she. Lifting the lid carefully I see her enrobed in deep red velvet. Slowly I remove her from her home and make my way back out to you. You are still in the same spot that you were before. Your expression is still blank as I move in front of you. You look up at me, a slight smile tugging at your lips. Your eyes then move down to my hands where I hold her carefully by her slender neck, in my other hand I hold her bow. I place her in your lap and hand you the bow. You look at her for a moment like you have no idea what to do with her. Then as if you remembered all at once you stand up and move away from the chaise, carefully adjusting her strings as you walk away from me. You then position her onto your shoulder, your long elegant fingers are ready and poised to begin on her neck and your other hand skillfully holds the bow. In one swift motion music erupts from her, seemingly out of no where. I seat myself on the chaise, curling my legs up beside me as I watch you silently. Your dark hair is spilling forth from its ribbon that is meagerly trying to hold it back. The expression on your face is priceless. You love her more then anything in this world and it shows. I close my eyes and allow myself to drift with your songs. I was so wrapped up in your music that I did not realize that you had stopped playing until I felt your soft lips melting onto mine. My eyes flutter open and I look up at you. My eyes are filled with complete and utter love for you and as you look down at me yours are filled with the same for me. You gently take my hand and press kisses to my fingertips as I look up at you in awe. Finally you speak, “Je t’aime toujours.”

My heart swells as I look into your golden brown eyes and in a soft whisper I return the words. “I will love you always, Nicolas.”
